North Central Texas Water Quality
The Texas Water Resources Institute, Texas Agricultural Experiment Station, and Texas Cooperative Extension are collaborating with Tarrant Regional Water District to study water quality protection and sediment and nutrient loading improvements in five reservoirs on the Trinity River. A team of researchers, Extension specialists and agents and private consultants are using computer models to analyze different management practices to improve the water quality. The team is also developing educational programs and assisting the water district in writing watershed protection plans for the reservoirs. This project is funded through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Department of Agriculture - Natural Resources Conservation Service.
